Action4Diabetics’ co-founder Charles Toomey was honoured to be invited to the 13th Lao Paediatric Medical Education Conference in the country’s capital.

After receiving a warm introduction from Professor Khampe Phongsavat, one of Laos’ most eminent medical professionals, Charles delivered a presentation to the 150 people present on the work that A4D is doing in the region. This was met with a tremendous round of applause and thanks in recognition of the life changing work that the charity does, operating on the front line to help save the lives of young Type 1 Diabetics.

A big thank to all our wonderful supporters and donors from around the world – without your help A4D would not have been able to start its work in Laos in 2016. In particular, a big thanks to Moe and Poppy at MEG, our local partner in Laos, who have made it all possible on the ground. Thanks also to the committed and brilliant team at Mahout Hospital: Doctor Khaisy, Doctor Amphaynanh, Doctor Oulayvanh and their colleagues.

We are really looking forward to expanding our operations in Laos and helping more young Type 1 Diabetics in the region.
