EX INTERNATIONAL CYCLIST AND EXTREME RUNNER JOINS A4 D TEAM!
We’re delighted to welcome former international cyclist Roddy Riddle to the A4D Team as an ambassador. Roddy was diagnosed at the age of 40 with Type 1 diabetes, and has since taken part in a number of gruelling running challenges to raise awareness of diabetes. At the age of 45, he was the second type 1 diabetic ever to run the 230k, trans-Saharan 155-mile Marathon des Sables, reputedly the toughest footrace on Earth. In March 2016, he took part in the 6633 Ultra, “the toughest, coldest and windiest extreme ultra marathon”, a non-stop, self-sufficient foot race covering a distance of up to 350 miles of gruelling terrain in the Arctic, and will be repeating the experience in March 2017. Roddy lives life to the absolute maximum and never lets diabetes get in his way. His motto is “Rule Type1 diabetes, don’t let it rule you”. You can check out his website here: //roddyriddle.com
