Zuellig Pharma has pledged to increase their commitment to Action4Diabetics (A4D) and will now be directly supporting 14 young people through the A4D Sponsor a Child programme. This agreement lasts for three years, demonstrating  Zuellig Pharma’s ongoing commitment to making healthcare more accessible in South East Asia.

“A4D is doing an amazing job in reaching young people suffering from Type 1 Diabetes in some of the most remote areas of South East Asia,” says John Davison, CEO at Zuellig Pharma. “This especially resonates with our mission of making healthcare more accessible. We have been steadfast supporters of A4D over the past 2 years, and look forward to extending this commitment to its Sponsor a Child programme.”

Action4Diabetics is a UK registered charity focused on providing essential medical supplies and practical support to young people with Type 1 Diabetes in South East Asia.

According to the charity’s co-founder, Charles Toomey, ‘‘Zuellig Pharma has offered fantastic support to A4D, including their donation of over $20,000 towards the Action4Diabetics cycle challenge across the Pyrenees mountains in Europe in 2018. The A4D Sponsor a Child programme is a great opportunity for corporate and private donors to directly support young people with Type 1 Diabetes in South-East Asia. All funds go towards essential life-saving medication and development support based on the child’s specific circumstances.”

Type 1 Diabetes is an incurable condition and requires a high level of expertise and specific medication to ensure survival. Due to the chronic nature of Type 1 Diabetes, long-term commitment from partners such as Zuellig Pharma is crucial in providing sustainable solutions that ensure the future well-being of the young people we support’

Both the A4D team and the families we provide care to are incredibly grateful for Zuellig Pharma’s ongoing support as they help us to save and transform lives. Thank you!
